Employee Profile: Angela Heying

For the past 15 months, everything in Angie Heying’s world at Minnesota Lakes Bank has been new. She joined Crow River State Bank in 2013 as Vice President/Compliance Officer and was appointed to her current position as Senior Vice President/Chief Operations Officer once the bank was acquired and rebranded Minnesota Lakes Bank in September 2014.

For the past 24 years, she has held a variety of banking jobs including compliance officer, internal auditor, cashier, operations officer, information security officer, loan administration, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) officer, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) officer and business continuity officer.

When asked about the favorite part of her job, Angie stated, “I really like problem solving. I love to roll up my sleeves, dig in and figure things out.”

Angie had ample opportunity to do that in her role as the acquisition of Crow River Bank occurred and everything was transitioned over to Minnesota Lakes Bank.

“I’m always at work and like to get the job done,” she said. With her current role, Angie added she has a lot more day-to-day interaction with customers and employees as well, which she really enjoys.

Angie lives 20 miles from Delano with her husband, Pat. Pat is a nurse by trade but is currently employed by a large insurance company. Angie and Pat have two daughters. The older daughter followed in her mom’s footsteps and is an SBA program adminstrator for Highland Bank. Their younger daughter is a student at North Hennepin Community College. The Heying family loves to spend time at their cabin near St. Cloud boating. They also enjoy cheering on the Minnesota Wild and like to snowmobile with family and friends.
